Semi-Skilled Engineering Operative.
We’re looking for a ‘sheet metal type’ person for our client in Clitheroe, semi-skilled would suffice or someone with a basic knowledge.
Other than outside a 25 mile radius we don’t know of anyone else who manufacturers cladding industry trims so I would think it would be new to most in this area.
Our client manufactures thin gauge items on a CNC RAS Turbo Bend for the roofing and cladding industry from 0.7mm to 2mm thick sheet metal so majority of the work is operating the machine, it is a CNC machine, so programming is essential but not difficult once taught. The role can be physically demanding as it can be tough on the back at times when handling larger trims.
Candidate needs to be able to use a forklift to manoeuvre his materials, use a guillotine to cut and the RAS to fold, then we make small end pieces and corner pieces, knowledge of a sheet metal background comes into play, these are cut with the guillotine or hand snips and folded/ riveted up. Need to be neat as these are a finished item fitted on site.
No welding at present but we are looking at tig welding in a round 6 months, not required by this person but an interest in welding is an advantage.
Training for the right candidate will be provided.
The right candidate may be required to help out in other fields, this may involve loading and unloading vehicles for site operatives, checking equipment what comes back from site etc. On rare occasions you may be asked to labour on other sites and be flexible.
Hours are Monday to Friday 6am to 4pm, Mon to Fri, salary would be around £10 per hour. Overtime may be available.
Holidays 20 plus 8 Bank Holidays.
Our client is definitely expanding and going in the right direction, if you have knowledge of working in an Engineering company and have a good employment record, we would like to hear off you.
